The Wireless-G Notebook Adapter with SRX400 puts smart antenna technology with standards-based Wireless-G (802.11g) networking all together. Overlaying the signals of two Wireless-G compatible radios, the "Multiple In, Multiple Out" (MIMO) technology does effectively double the data rate. Not like standard wireless networking technologies which may be confused by signal reflections, MIMO will use these reflections to increase its range and actually reduce "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area. The powerful signal will travel further while maintaining a wireless connection up to 3 times farther than a standard Wireless-G.

With the SRX, the farther away you may be, the more the speed advantage you will get. SRX400 works really well with the standard Wireless-G and -B equipment, and other flavors of Linksys SRX. However, when each end of the wireless link are SRX400, the network will increase the throughput some more by using twice as much radio band, yielding speeds as much as ten times as fast as standard Wireless-G; even faster than 10/100 wired network speeds! But not like the other speed-enhanced technologies, SRX400 will dynamically enable the double-speed mode for SRX400 devices, while still connecting to a non-SRX400 wireless device at their own respective fastest speeds. This unit works well. If you want to use the setup on the cd you could have problems with getting it to work. I found that when installing this card into the notebook and letting windows do the install, it works. When windows did ask for the setup cd that is when I inserted the cd, not before.
